Phil and Krystyna’s wedding day started at their reception site: the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake, IL. Though this was a “barn wedding”, there was little rustic about it; beautifully manicured grounds, a private community, and a historic school building made it evident why Krystyna had wanted to reserve a date here before they were even engaged.
From the moment they saw each other in the morning, their day was full of their love for each other and their shared joy in entering into a marriage covenant. Family, friends, and especially the wedding party were swept up in the joy of the day (especially when the groomsmen flagged down an ice cream truck!).
Even though it was 90 degrees in September, the outdoor ceremony was beautiful and full of laughter and that same joy. The light was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. This wedding remains one of our favorites for a few reasons, but chief among them is how much true love and authentic emotion was present.
